A Dubai trade licence copy is stored on your account, so the first step is signing in, not visiting an office. DET, the Department of Economy and Tourism, runs Invest in Dubai, and the licence sits there as a digital certificate.
How do I download a Dubai trade licence copy?
- Open Invest in Dubai.
- Sign in with UAE Pass.
- Choose the company or establishment, if you have more than one.
- Open the licence.
- Download the certificate and save it.
Menu names change from time to time, so follow the labels on screen. After a renewal, the portal and an email carry the new digital copy, and a physical copy can be asked for.
How do I check or verify a Dubai trade licence?
To check a Dubai mainland licence, search it on the Dubai Economy and Tourism (DET) e-services, under licence information. You can search by the company's English or Arabic name, or by its licence number. The result is a company profile that shows the licence status, the expiry date, the legal type, the business activities and, where available, contact details and the address.
This search covers licences DET issues on the mainland. A free zone licence is issued by the zone itself, so check it with that zone, using the licence number on the certificate. If a supplier will not give you a licence number to check, treat that as a warning sign before you pay.
Can I get a printed or certified trade licence copy?
- Print the downloaded file for most uses.
- Banks, landlords and some authorities ask for a stamped copy. Request it through the portal or a licensed typing and PRO service, see PRO services.
- A copy for use abroad may need attestation, which is a separate step.
How do I get a free zone licence copy?
Free zone licences come from the zone. Each zone has its own process. Jafza lists a License Certificate True Copy service, requested on the Dubai Trade portal, at AED 50 for one month or AED 150 for three months. Check your zone's page for its steps. Free zone renewal is covered on free zone licence renewal.
What if the trade licence has expired?
A copy of an expired licence will not satisfy a bank. Renew first, then download the new one. Changes to activity or owners need an amendment before the copy shows them.
