Invest in Sharjah counts six Sharjah free zones, and a seventh exists on paper. The lowest published price is SRTIP's SPARK Starter at AED 3,999 a year: a licence with co-working, up to 3 activities and no visa, sold as a limited time offer. SPC Free Zone and Shams follow at AED 4,999 and AED 5,760. The table above shows every zone with the figures it publishes, and which ones publish nothing.

What kinds of free zone does Sharjah have?

Sharjah splits neatly. Half the zones sell desk licences to small companies at listed prices. The other half lease land, warehouses and clinical space, and quote each client.

Desk licence zones, with prices online

  • SRTIP, the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park next to University City. Three SPARK tiers, each with 0, 1 or 2 visas. It suits tech firms, researchers, consultants and early start-ups.
  • SPC Free Zone, Sharjah Publishing City, run by a subsidiary of the Sharjah Book Authority. It publishes fees line by line. Online sellers, consultants and small traders use it as well as publishers.
  • Shams, the Sharjah Media City free zone. Two packages, both with a flexi desk and VAT in the price. Media activities, content creators and small online firms fit best.

Space zones, priced on request

  • SAIF Zone by Sharjah International Airport. In a SAIF Zone business setup, your office sets your visas: 3 with a SAIF Office, 5 with an Executive Office, 8 with a SAIF Suite. An FZE or FZC needs AED 150,000 share capital. SAIF prints no fees; three setup agencies quote AED 10,800 a year for a flexi desk with a 3 visa quota, visa fees extra. Traders, re-exporters and light manufacturers use it.
  • Hamriyah Free Zone on the coast, with Service, Commercial and Industrial licences and industrial land. Its site was under maintenance when we checked. The last official figure we found is HFZA's own FAQ in a web archive from : AED 11,000 for a basic licence. Two setup agencies quote the same AED 11,000 today, for a package with a 1 visa quota.
  • Sharjah Healthcare City, regulated by the Sharjah Health Authority, for hospitals, clinics, labs and medical suppliers. No public prices.

How much does a Sharjah free zone licence cost?

Only the three desk zones give current numbers of their own that you can line up.

Zone Cheapest licence With 1 visa
SRTIP AED 3,999, SPARK Starter, limited time AED 10,990
SPC Free Zone AED 4,999, online publishing only; AED 5,750 for Publishing and E-commerce AED 13,165
Shams AED 5,760, Media Package Not published as a package

Source: SRTIP Start Your Business page, SPC licence and e-commerce pages, Shams packages page, all checked .

For Sharjah free zone company formation on a budget, watch the limits behind each low price. SRTIP's Starter allows one shareholder and leaves out corporate tax registration. SPC's E-Publishing tier is for online publishing activities only. Shams' Media Package takes media activities only, and its Standard Package costs more. Our Shams vs SPC comparison goes through the two most searched options, and the cheapest free zone in Sharjah page ranks every published entry price.

Free zones in Sharjah that are new or unclear

  • COMTECH, the Sharjah Communication Technologies Free Zone, was created by Emiri Decree, reported by WAM on . Its seat is Kalba on the east coast. We found no website, prices or licence list, and Invest in Sharjah still says six zones.
  • Older agency lists add other Sharjah zone names. We found them on no official page, so we leave them out.
  • The official lists disagree. The federal u.ae portal names three Sharjah zones, the Ministry of Economy's registrar list names five, and Invest in Sharjah names six.

Should you choose a Sharjah free zone or the mainland?

A free zone company works inside its zone and abroad. To sell to UAE customers it needs a licensed distributor, a mainland branch or a mainland company. Two Sharjah zones offer a middle route: SPC and SRTIP both list a dual licence that adds Sharjah mainland work to the free zone licence. Ask what the dual licence costs, since neither zone prints that fee. For the wider choice, read free zone or mainland.
