The Fujairah Free Zone is run by the Fujairah Free Zone Authority (FFZA), set up in 1987 next to Fujairah Port on the east coast. FFZA's new website publishes no fees. Its former site listed a flexi desk from AED 18,000 a year and a licence from AED 2,500, and agencies publish AED 18,500 to AED 30,000 for a first year with one visa. It suits trading, logistics, marine and industrial firms that want a port, warehouses or land.
How much does a Fujairah Free Zone license cost?
The current FFZA website, freezone.fujairah.ae, has no price list. We read its pages, its licence services page and the company application form, and none gives a fee. The last official prices we found sit on FFZA's former website, fujairahfreezone.com, which now redirects. Copies kept by the Wayback Machine show this table:
| Item | Official price on the old site | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Flexi desk | AED 18,000 a year minimum | The page leaves the rows unlabelled, so it does not say whether the licence is inside |
| Virtual office | AED 15,000 a year minimum | Plus AED 1,200 utilities and an AED 5,000 refundable deposit |
| Office rent | from AED 20,000 a year | Plus the licence: from AED 2,500, or AED 10,000 for general trading |
| Incorporation | AED 5,300 one time | FZE and FZC only |
| Residence visa | AED 3,460 per person | Listed on the office and flexi desk pages |
Source: FFZA's former website, Wayback copies of the flexi desk page () and the virtual and branch office pages (), checked . These are official figures, but FFZA has moved to a new site since, so they may be out of date. Use them as a guide, not a quote.
On top of these, the old pages list one time utility charges of AED 1,200 to AED 2,850 and refundable deposits of AED 5,000 to AED 15,000, depending on the facility. The flexi desk page asked for an AED 10,000 deposit and the virtual office page for AED 5,000.
What moves your price:
- Facility. The application form lists a flexi desk, a virtual office, a trading office, a warehouse, a pre-built factory and land. A desk costs far less than a warehouse or a plot.
- Licence type. FFZA licenses services, trading, distribution, assembling, manufacturing and consulting projects. General trading was priced higher than a standard licence on the old site.
- Visas. Each residence visa adds a medical test and an Emirates ID on top of the visa fee.
- Company type. An FZE, an FZC and a branch need different paperwork, and a branch needs attested parent documents.
What setup agencies charge
Agencies give newer numbers than the archive. For a first year with a licence, a desk and one visa, they publish about AED 18,500 to AED 30,000 (published prices of 3 setup agencies, checked ). The cheapest end is an agency's own founder package; the top end is an indicative budget that includes the company cards.
For a licence with no visa, two agencies publish AED 9,000 to AED 14,500 a year. These are agency prices, not ours and not FFZA's.
The flexi desk is where sources clash. The old FFZA page started at AED 18,000 a year, and one agency still quotes a figure close to that. Another agency prices a flexi desk at a small fraction of it. We cannot tell which is current, so ask FFZA to confirm the desk price in writing.
What does a Fujairah Free Zone visa cost?
FFZA's new site does not publish a visa quota or visa fee. The former visas page (archived ) listed an employment visa at AED 3,450 for office companies or AED 4,450 for warehouse companies, plus an AED 1,000 deposit, and residence visa renewal at AED 3,050. Treat those as old official figures.
Today, setup agencies publish AED 3,500 to AED 7,500 per visa (published prices of 4 setup agencies, checked ). The top of the range includes the medical and Emirates ID; some lower figures do not.
Ask how many visas your facility allows before you sign the lease. FFZA publishes no establishment card fee. The two agencies that give one do not price the same thing, so we leave the number out. The FFZA renewal guide shows that the card and the e-channel account are renewed every year with the licence, so budget for both. Our page on the establishment card explains what the card does.
What office options does Fujairah Free Zone offer?
- Flexi desk and virtual office: the low-cost way to hold a licence when you do not need your own space.
- Trading office: a leased office inside the zone for a team on site.
- Warehouse: storage for trading and distribution next to Fujairah Port.
- Pre-built factory and land: for assembling, manufacturing and larger industrial projects.
FFZA describes the zone as about 4 million square metres, served by Fujairah Port and Fujairah International Airport. Its listed fields include manufacturing, processing, petrochemicals, engineering, aviation, mining, marine, logistics, trading and consultancy.
The Fujairah Oil Industry Zone (FOIZ)
People often list the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone as a separate free zone. On the evidence we found, it is not a separate licensing zone. The FFZA renewal guide says entities "registered in Fujairah Free Zone Authority and located in the Fujairah Oil Industrial Zone (FOIZ) area" need a renewal approval letter, a NOC, from FOIZ management.
So an oil storage or bunkering company in the FOIZ area holds an FFZA licence and follows the FFZA rules on this page. The extra step is that letter from FOIZ before each renewal. If your project is in that area, ask for the FOIZ approval process in the same quote.
Renewing a Fujairah Free Zone licence
The FFZA renewal guide lists what you pay and file each year:
- the licence fee and any rent, as shown on your FFZA statement
- AED 30 for each access card
- an NER fee of AED 10 a year
- social development fees
- an audited financial report, your FTA tax certificate and UBO details
The establishment card and e-channel are renewed with the licence. Our free zone licence renewal guide covers the audit and tax filings in more detail.
Which licence types and company forms does Fujairah Free Zone offer?
- FZE: one owner, either a person or a company.
- FZC: more than one shareholder.
- Branch: of a foreign or a UAE company.
- Offshore company: offered on the FFZA application form.
The form asks for your "proposed capital investment in USD" but sets no minimum share capital.
How do you set up a company in Fujairah Free Zone?
- Choose your project type and facility, and gather your documents.
- Apply through the FFZA digital portal at digital.fujairah.ae with the company application form.
- Agree the terms with FFZA and receive the statement of fees.
- Pay the first year of licence fees, rent and other charges.
- Collect the licence. FFZA says it is issued "within 1 hour" once these steps are done, under its "One Visit, One Hour, One window" line.
- Apply for the establishment card, then residence visas.
FFZA does not say whether every step can be done from abroad, so plan for a possible visit and ask before you apply.
What documents does Fujairah Free Zone ask for?
For an individual owner:
- passport copy
- two photos
- a NOC from your sponsor if you already hold a UAE residence visa
- the completed application form
For a branch or a subsidiary of a company: an attested board resolution, a power of attorney, the certificate of incorporation, the memorandum of association, the parent company licence, UBO details, shareholder passports, a good standing certificate and, for a branch, the last audit report.

Compare before you choose
For a desk licence, compare the price with Creative City Fujairah, the media free zone in the same emirate, or with RAKEZ in Ras Al Khaimah. For port and industrial work, the Sharjah zones Hamriyah and SAIF Zone are the closest match. All zones in the emirate are on our Fujairah free zones page.
